Day 1
VILLA MALEKU
Tour hours:From 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
Arenal Mundo Aventura, not only offers adventure activities and environmental education; The Ecological Park during its 8 years of existence has acquired the commitment to protect our cultural roots.
This is why: Villa Maleku was created, an opportunity open to anyone who wishes to share and learn more about their Costa Rican legacy. The Maleku indigenous community is one of the 24 different indigenous territories in Costa Rica; but that unfortunately they fight every day to try to preserve their beliefs, culture and traditions.
The Indigenous Cultural Rescue Project proposes that students, families and people, both national and foreign, can visit this small representation and thus make their language known to future generations: Maleku Jaica, their favorite food: "the mufuriseca", medicinal plants such as "La gavilana" and "la cuculmeca", their dazas, ceremonies, rituals for burials are just a taste of everything you can learn with these people and most importantly help more than 30 families that are within this program.
We recommend bringing long pants and comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes; mosquito repellent and sunscreen cream or SPRAY (not spray) and camera
Pregnant women, people with serious heart problems and high blood pressure; Recent back problems or surgeries cannot participate in the tour.
