Tour to Taxco and Cuernavaca from Mexico City

• After being picked up from your accommodation and taking a 90 km trip, you will venture to know the city of Cuernavaca in the state of Morelos; You will visit its beautiful cathedral, dating from the 16th century and which claims to be one of the first Franciscan constructions in Mexico; The essence of this Cathedral is found in its architectural style, which is called Indo-Christian.
• Before continuing your experience the guide will give a short break, you will have time to look at the crafts of the region or have a coffee.
• To continue your experience you will have to make a second trip of 80 kms to the City of Taxco, in the state of Guerrero; Once you have arrived in Taxco, you will visit a replica of a mine to learn about the importance of mining in the viceregal economy and of course in our present day.
• Taxco is considered the City of Silver, thanks to the fact that it became one of the first royal mines more than 400 years ago.
• Once the visit to the mine is over, you will have time to have lunch in a traditional restaurant, where you will have the opportunity to taste a variety of typical foods from the region.
• You will then continue your experience with a walk through the emblematic streets of the city, until you reach the famous church of Santa Prisca, where you will be able to appreciate its architectural style called “Churrigueresque or Balbesian” baroque.
• The guide will tell you about the interesting history of the church and especially about the man who made its construction possible and who was considered the richest man in New Spain. You will also have time to visit the many silver shops that are characteristic of this region or simply enjoy your 30 minutes of free time walking before boarding your transport and returning to Mexico City.
