Our 2-day Colca tour to the Colca Valley is an experience that will take you to a place rich in culture, nature and traditions. Let's immerse ourselves in Colca with all our senses; music, textiles, flavors, walks, admirable Andean nature, capricious volcanoes, fauna and flora, trying on typical costumes and much more.
During our trip we enjoyed impressive natural settings, whether crossing part of the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Park, observing the vicuñas, alpacas and llamas, admiring the colorful terraces combined with its mountains and gorges, or interacting with the local people of Colca.
Let us not forget that we are in the "kingdom of the Condor"; So additionally we will have the privilege of observing the spectacular flight of the Andean condor between the walls of the Colca Valley canyon.
Day 1. Arequipa – Chivay
We will begin with the pick-up from your hotels in the city center to go out to the spectacular Colca Valley. We will skirt the slopes of the “Chachani volcano”; arriving at the national reserve of “Salinas and Aguada Blanca” where we can see South American camelids such as vicuñas, llamas, alpacas. We make a stop in Patahuasi, to taste hot drinks such as coca, muña, chachacoma, (Inca mate), to prevent altitude sickness, then we will head towards “Tocrapampa” to appreciate natural wetlands, sightings of high Andean birds and migratory birds, We will also make stops at the “Mirador de los volcanes” (Patapampa) at 4910 meters above sea level with a view of the “volcanic mountain ranges”, we consider it to be the highest point in the Colca Valley.
We descend towards the town of Chivay, for lunch, there we will have buffet, à la carte or menu options, where you can taste New Andean dishes. Later we will go to the Chacapi Hot Springs in Yanque, where we can enjoy the thermo-medicinal pools with waters at temperatures above 30° C, at this point we have a variety of options to have fun; We can ride horses, enjoy the Colca trails on ATVs or experience the adrenaline by practicing Zipline. After almost 2 hours we return to the town of Chivay for the respective accommodation in their hotels.
At night, for dinner, a visit to a tourist club restaurant is optional where you can see a performance of typical Colca dances and can share with other visitors to the Canyon.
ITINERARY
Day 1. Arequipa Chivay
Day 2. Chivay – Cruz del Condor – Puno
In the morning, after breakfast we will go to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. Passing through the town of Yanque, we will visit its church and plaza, we continue through the magical valley passing through impressive landscapes and traditional villages, arriving at approximately 8.10 am. to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint where we will be waiting for the impressive flight of the condors, enormous Andean birds in danger of extinction that are the symbol of the Andes Mountains and the Andean culture, the view from the viewpoint allows us to fully appreciate the size of the Colca Canyon, considered one of the deepest in the world (4160m).
During the return trip, stops are made at the viewpoints of Wayrapunku, Antahuilque and Choquetico for photographic hiking, we will visit the town of Maca that still preserves its colonial church “Santa Ana”, where you can taste the “Colca Sour”.
Afterwards we return to the town of Chivay for lunch, and from there we board the bus at the Chivay station to head towards the city of Puno.
On the way to Puno, we will be able to enjoy again the views that the high Andean region offers us, we will make a short visit to the viewpoint of the “Volcanic Mountains”, if you want to taste a drink or snack in “Patahuasi” you will be able to do so and finally we will make our Last stop in “Lagunillas”, Puno sector so you can observe and photograph South American birds and camelids.
We will be arriving towards the city of Puno at approximately 7:30 pm. If they have accommodation in the city center, it is possible to leave them at their accommodation.Day 2. Chivay – Cruz del Condor – Puno.

The chances of seeing condors during our visit are high, the amount depends on the season, let us consider that for the January and February rainy season the possibility is low because the high Andean bird descends towards the coast during that time. .
5. I travel with children, from what age do they pay?
Children under 5 years old are exempt from any payment; from 6 years old onwards, each tourist is considered to travel in their own seat.
